Boyd Coddington Passes Away

Hotrod builder and designer Boyd Coddington died this morning at 6:20am of undisclosed causes at 63. The cause of death is still unknown. Coddington, founder of Boyds Wheels and builder of custom cars, had recently been hospitalized twice for an undisclosed medical condition.

Nostalgia Hot Rods With Joe

I recieved some great old pictures from one of our readers and just had to share these great old Nostalgia Rod Pics with our readers.
I found the car in a farm filled to the dash with horse manua, towed it home and started striping it. The farmer charged me $ 35.00 dollars and the car ran. While towing it home i put it in second gear and it started, I spent 2 years building it, as you see in the pictures I did it all in that shaby garage or shed it was horrible conditions. I could just barely walk around the car. The first show I took the car to it got 5 first place trophies, best in show, most popular, best engine compartment, best engineered rod and best upholstery , that was in the Hartford armory in connecticut.

How It All Started

It's been a long time now since I was introduced to hot-rodding. I think I was about 12 years old when my neighbor took me for a ride in his car. He had a 29 T pickup with a Ford 427 Big Block in it with headers and side pipes. That car was just too cool the power and speed of the car was addicting I just couldn't wait to get old enough to drive.
Where would I be today with out that ride that day in that Hot Rod? I think to myself would I still be in the Hot Rod business or would I be just another person driving down the road wondering why people get so excited about cars.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is for others to get involved in taking youngsters for rides. It could change a young little ones life for ever just like it did mine many years ago.
